Job summary

Moss Energy is seeking a Commissioning Technician to support the startup and delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. This role performs commissioning across electrical systems to ensure safe energization and reliable operation on multiple sites.

You will read diagrams, perform testing (Megger, VOC, VLF, TTR), troubleshoot AC/DC components, and coordinate with SCADA and construction teams. Safety and quality are paramount.

Qualifications

  • Experience commissioning electrical systems in solar, BESS, or utility/industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing methods and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and control logic.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and field execution experience.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, and power distribution equipment
  • Execute NETA-based testing (Megger, VOC Testing, VLF, TTR) to validate system performance and integrity
  • Support system startup, energization, and troubleshooting of both AC and DC components on solar and BESS projects
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams to verify installation and resolve field issues
  • Coordinate with construction, and SCADA teams to ensure proper system integration and communication
  • Document commissioning activities, test results, and turnover packages in accordance with project and industry standards
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, electrical codes, and site requirements
  • Implement, control and execute energy isolation procedures (LOTO)

Moss Energy is seeking a skilled Commissioning Technician to support the startup and delivery of utility‑scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. This role is responsible for executing commissioning activities across electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient project energization.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including inverters, and power distribution equipment
  • Execute NETA-based testing (Megger (insulation resistance), VOC Testing, VLF, TTR) to validate system performance and integrity
  • Support system startup, energization, and troubleshooting of both AC and DC components on solar and BESS projects

  • Coordinate with construction, and SCADA teams to ensure proper system integration and communication
