Job summary

Staffworks Group seeks a Commissioning Superintendent to oversee startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover of complex building systems on mission-critical projects, with a strong focus on data centers. You will lead field execution during final construction phases and ensure systems are fully operational for owner acceptance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience.
• 3+ years of field supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, and construction sequencing.
• Experience with data centers, healthcare, industrial, or other highly technical facilities preferred.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and owner representatives.
• Manage startup and testing of electrical distribution, HVAC, building automation, life safety, and backup power systems.

The Commissioning Superintendent oversees the startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover of complex building systems on mission-critical construction projects, with a strong focus on data centers. This individual leads field execution during the final phases of construction and ensures all systems are fully operational and ready for owner acceptance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities from installation through final turnover.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, commissioning agents, and owner representatives.
• Manage startup and testing of:
• Electrical distribution systems
• HVAC and chilled water systems
• Building automation controls
• Life safety systems
• Backup power systems
• Develop and maintain commissioning schedules.
• Lead commissioning, coordination, and trade meetings.
• Oversee safety, quality, and compliance during testing and startup.
• Manage punch lists, deficiencies, turnover documentation, and closeout activities.
• Ensure all systems meet performance requirements before owner handoff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience.
• 3+ years of field supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning, and construction sequencing.
• Experience with data centers, healthcare, industrial, or other highly technical facilities preferred.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
