Job summary

Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (Qcells USA) is seeking a Commissioning Superintendent to oversee safety, productivity, schedule, testing, and commissioning of utility-scale solar and BESS facilities. This hybrid role may require travel up to 100% and work across project sites within the United States.

You will coordinate commissioning teams, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with project scope while liaising with engineering, procurement, and construction groups.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in major project construction, preferably utility-scale.
  • Solar PV and/or BESS commissioning experience.
  • Willingness to travel and work across sites.
  • Procore or comparable project management tool experience.
  • Experience reviewing electrical drawings and installation/design packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and testing agencies/subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Directs solar commissioning personnel and subcontractors to complete projects.
  • Support project planning and resource utilization for commissioning activities.
  • Follow Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Coordinate resources to maintain safety and quality.
  • Create and maintain commissioning documentation per contract requirements.
  • Ensure work stays within approved scope and contractual terms.
  • Coordinate with supplier testing and commissioning teams.
  • Identify required testing per project scope and ITP.
  • Communicate commissioning requirements with engineering teams.
  • Travel as required and maintain attendance as essential.

COMMISSIONING SUPERINTENDENT

Summary

TheCommissioningSuperintendentis responsible foroverseeinggeneral safety, productivity, schedule,testing, andcommissioningof utility level solar generation facilities.

Thisisahybridposition, you will work out of your home office and the project sites. Working hours shall be determined based on project requirements and business needs, in consultation with the employee's supervisor. This position is expected to travel up to 100%.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
  • Directs solarcommissioningpersonneland/or subcontractorsto achieve completion of the project
  • Supporttheprojectteamwith planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities
  • Follow and implementthe company’s Health, Safety & EnvironmentalPolicy;
  • Coordinate and implement resourcesand activitiesnecessary tomaintain safetyand quality
  • Create and maintain commissioning documentation in accordance with contract requirements
  • Assure that all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance
  • Coordination with supplier testing & commissioning teams
  • Identify testing required per project scope of workand ITP
  • Communication with engineering parties to meet commissioning requirements
  • Regularattendance, inaccordancewithcompany'sattendancepolicyandsupervisoryassignment,isan essentialjobdutyrequirementforthisposition
  • Performotherdutiesandspecialprojects,asassignedbyManagement
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of4years of professional experience supporting the construction of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects
  • Solar PV,and/or BESSprojectcommissioningexperience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience with Procoreor comparable project management tool
  • Experience withMicrosoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience reviewing electricaldrawings andmanuals of installation and design technical packages
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to professionallyinteract withclientsand outside testing agencies/subcontractors
  • Experience operating solargeneration facility electricalequipment
  • Experience with energization procedures and operations of substation equipment
