Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist to perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing and commissioning of hydrogen infrastructure at multiple customer sites. Travel up to 100% and on-call responsibilities are required to maintain continuous hydrogen production.
The role emphasizes safety, cross-functional communication, and the ability to lead service projects while ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Location: Olympia, WA, Salem, OR, and Columbus, OH
This position is responsible for commissioning, preventative maintenance troubleshooting, and repair of Plug power products including hydrogen storage infrastructure, electrolyzers, and stationary equipment at various customer sites. As such, this is a heavy travel position (up to 100%). This role requires excellent mechanical aptitude and a high degree of familiarity with industrial hydrogen systems and performance. This position also requires the ability to be on-call and to respond to urgent needs so that customer sites maintain hydrogen production around the clock. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively among cross-functional departments with an emphasis on helping to improve electrolyzers system designs and resolve defects based upon field experience and data. This position is also critical to interface with customer stakeholders and exceed their expectations for service thereby furthering Plug Power’s reputation as the leader in hydrogen fuel cell power solutions.
Three (3) or more years of experience in construction, repair, or maintenance in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field. Associates degree or vocational degree in engineering, electronics, pressurized systems or other applicable field of study preferred. Or in lieu of a degree, 2 additional years of construction, repair, or maintenance experience in an electrical, industrial, or mechanical field.
