Job summary

NEXHR is seeking an experienced Controls Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning, testing, and start-up of control systems on complex industrial projects. Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS and a background in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related process industries are highly valued.

The role involves site-based commissioning activities, loop checks, function testing, troubleshooting, and coordination with multi-disciplinary project teams.

Qualifications

  • Proven commissioning experience in controls, automation, or instrumentation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS.
  • Background in oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, power, or similar process environment.
  • Experience with site commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to read and understand control system documentation and engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of field instrumentation, control loops, and I/O systems.
  • Comfortable working in a site-based environment and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out commissioning and start-up activities for control and automation systems.
  • Perform loop checks, signal validation, and function testing of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Support configuration review, testing, and troubleshooting of DeltaV DCS systems.
  • Work with commissioning, operations, instrumentation, and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, I/O lists, control narratives, cause and effect charts, and loop diagrams.
  • Assist with FAT/SAT preparation and execution where required.
  • Maintain accurate commissioning records, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety standards, permit-to-work processes, and project procedures.

Job description
