Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group in Boston is seeking a mid-level engineer for the Commissioning Group to lead testing and commissioning of mechanical and smoke control systems. You will review plans, analyze energy measures, and report findings with clients.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in related fields; EIT/PE preferred, with strong communication and knowledge of codes. We offer a salaried, exempt position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years of experience in a related engineering field (HVAC or energy management).
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or PE preferred.
• Very good communication skills.
• Technical training certifications (BCxP, CEM, etc.).
• MEP/FP systems operation and maintenance; familiar with codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing and commissioning of mechanical and smoke control systems.
• Perform payback calculations and financial analysis of energy conservation measures.
• Review MEP and architectural plans for conformance with codes.
• Report findings from site observations and testing.
• Create test procedures to evaluate building systems performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues/defects in the field; client interaction.
