Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Graduate to join the Commissioning and Facility Management Division in New York. The role offers learning from senior engineers, hands-on field observations, and exposure to MEP systems and building commissioning.

Ideal candidates are graduating Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027 with internship experience and proficiency in MEP AutoCAD; REVIT is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering with expected graduation Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027.
  • Previous engineering internship is a plus.
  • Knowledge in the latest version of MEP AutoCAD; REVIT experience a plus.
  • Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Progress and other report writing.
  • Developing and administering pre-functional checklists.
  • Performing functional testing of low-level systems with test scripts created by others (VAVs, Unit Heaters, Lighting Controls, Circuit Verification, RPPs).
  • Proactively problem identification and resolution.
  • Taking ownership of completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assignments.
  • Assisting engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe and attend project coordination meetings.
  • Participate in EDT program training sessions and support activities.
  • Attend continuing education seminars on technical or professional topics.

Job Responsibilities:

As an entry level engineer, you will support our engineering teams working towards our designs that are inspiring, demanding and highly collaborative. You will learn from others, and they will expect to learn from you. You will share in the responsibility, rewards and recognition of producing truly innovative solutions and complete client satisfaction. The pace is fast, and the camaraderie is close.

Some responsibilities include:

Additional job requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering with a graduation date of Winter 2026, Spring or Summer of 2027
