Job summary

Henderson Building Solutions seeks a Commissioning Agent to join their team in Las Vegas to plan, budget, manage and execute building systems commissioning and related services. You will work with clients, project teams, contractors and vendors to ensure owner expectations are met.

The role covers planning through closeout, providing technical commissioning guidance, and assisting with staffing and scheduling to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant construction or engineering field is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Commissioning certification(s) such as NEBB, BCxA, AABC, ASHRAE preferred.
• Professional Engineering License preferred.
• OHSA training preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to understand drawings and specifications and how they translate to buildings.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains client relationships.
• Creates proposals for work based on RFPs or owner requests.
• Sets up projects and folders.
• Coordinates scheduling of site visits with contractors and clients.

Position Summary

The Commissioning Agent plays a key role in delivering successful commissioning projects by planning, budgeting, managing, and executing building systems commissioning, retro-commissioning, and ongoing commissioning services. Working closely with clients, project teams, contractors, and equipment vendors, this role ensures building systems are commissioned in accordance with project requirements and owner expectations.

The Commissioning Agent manages projects from planning through closeout, serves as a technical resource for commissioning and design-related matters, supports the development of team members, and assists with project scheduling and staffing to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering or Construction Management
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Commissioning certification(s) required (NEBB, BCxA, AABC, ASHRAE)
• Professional Engineering License preferred
• OHSA training preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to reliably and predictably carry out the functions of this job

• Have an understanding of building energy codes, ASHRAE, ACG and LEED commissioning requirements
• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
• Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Significant travel required – approximately 50% of time.
• Must be flexible and able to travel with little notice.
• Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
