Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Commercial Specialist to support CPP-led commercial sales, coordinate deliveries from order to dispatch, and manage the store vehicle fleet maintenance and readiness.

The role requires strong organization, accurate inventory knowledge, and the ability to upsell and build customer relationships. HS diploma, valid driver’s license with MVR, and weekend flexibility are needed.

Responsibilities

• Support CPP-led commercial sales and assist with dispatching deliveries from order to delivery.
• Manage store vehicle fleet maintenance, safety checks, and readiness.
• Lead organization around parts department and backroom; stock knowledge.
• Perform outbound calls, follow-ups, and account touchpoints.
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling to increase transaction value.
• Lead the commercial program during CPP absences (weekends/peak demand).
• Engage walk-in customers and assist with tasks or special projects.
• Support onboarding and shadowing of new team members.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support CPP-led commercial sales.
• Assist with dispatching and coordination of commercial deliveries from order creation to dispatched for delivery.
• Manage store vehicle fleet maintenance, safety checks, and general vehicle readiness.
• Conduct account stocking visits and Pro Sales flyer drops.
• Perform outbound calls, follow-ups, and basic account touchpoints.
• Perform customer deliveries as needed, following standard driver procedures (pick, stage, deliver, returns, core handling collection of credit accounts, customer relationship building)
• Lead the organization and maintenance in and around the parts department / backroom, staging, and delivery areas.
• Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales.
• Assist in upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value
• Lead commercial program when the CPP is not present (i.e. Weekends as business and customer demands require)

Secondary Responsibilities

• Engage with walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services
• Assist CPPs and GMs with tasking, special projects or execution initiatives including inventory management
• Support onboarding and shadowing of new team members

Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Commercial Specialist

• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Understand and execute instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; ability to write simple correspondence.
• Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
• Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required)
• Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Prior Experience that Sets a Commercial Specialist up for Success

Prior automotive parts experience preferred.

Prior dispatching or logistics coordination experience

Proven sales ability

Formal of informal experience working in groups to achieve goals.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

ASE certification preferred, but not required.

Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as this role is required to have an MVR certification.
