Job summary

GoldCoast Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent/Project Manager to lead on-site electrical construction for commercial solar projects. The role directs internal crews and subcontractors, oversees installation of DC collection systems, switchgear, and MV transformers, and ensures compliance with NEC and OSHA safety guidelines.

You will coordinate inspections with AHJ, utilities, and QA/QC teams while tracking progress and reporting to the Director of Construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years electrical construction experience with 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred
• Hands-on solar PV experience with commercial architectures, inverter configurations, and grid interconnection
• Ability to read, interpret, and redline single-line diagrams, electrical blueprints, and project specs
• Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather, navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs

Job description

• Field Leadership: Direct and mentor internal electrical crews, foremen, and subcontractors across single or multiple active commercial job sites.
• Electrical Oversight: Manage the installation of DC collection systems, homerun wiring, inverters, combiners, switchgear, and medium-voltage transformers.
• Quality & Safety (QA/QC): Enforce strict OSHA safety guidelines and ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Inspections & Commissioning: Coordinate and pass inspections with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), utility companies, and third-party QA/QC groups during system testing and energization.
• Project Progress: Monitor daily site progress, track material deliveries, adjust manpower allocations, and report schedule updates directly to the Director of Construction or Project Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 7 years of electrical construction experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership position (e.g., Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, or Electrical Project Manager).
• License: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
• Solar Knowledge: Demonstrated hands-on experience with commercial solar PV architectures, inverter configurations, and grid interconnection.
• Technical Skills: Advanced ability to read, interpret, and redline single-line diagrams, electrical blueprints, and project specifications.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders, access commercial rooftops, and lift up to 50 lbs.
