Hunt Electric, Inc. in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking full-time Electrical Service Technicians to join our Service Department.

You will install electrical systems, troubleshoot issues, and work with customers to provide prompt, professional service while upholding safety standards. The ideal candidate holds a Journeyman license, can read blueprints and electrical plans, and demonstrates strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Respond to jobs as scheduled by coordinator and manager.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
• Keep van stocked with materials as per manager's list.
• Drive van professionally and maintain a neat appearance.
• Keep van and tools clean and organized; ensure tools are accounted for.
• Order materials as required for job completion.
• Complete daily paperwork and submit as directed by manager.
• Explain project status to customers and verify satisfaction.
• Ensure work orders are signed before leaving site.
• Utilize basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Promote additional service opportunities and leave business cards/pamphlets.
• Collaborate with technicians and managers to improve processes.

Job description

Hunt Electric, Inc.is searching for full time Electrical Service Technicians to join our team. You will have the opportunity to grow and expand your knowledge in our Service Department and will work with various customers to install electrical work, troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems quickly and efficiently, and be well-rounded in all aspects of electrical work.

Our Electrical Service Technicians need toadapt to changing codes, regulations, and safety requirements,have the ability to troubleshoot, pull wire, bend pipeand compute electrical formulas.This position requires the knowledge toinstall control circuits and other components.We are looking for someone with the capabilities toread, interpret, and understand electrical plans, complex circuit schematics, and blueprints.We are looking for well-rounded journeyman electricians with good customer service skills.

A current Journeyman license is required. A valid reciprocal state journeyman license will be considered if a state license is obtained within 30 days.

Major Duties:

• Respond to jobs as scheduled by coordinator and manager.
• Be proficient in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues.
• Keep van stocked as described with material per the list provided by manager.
• Always drive van in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep van clean, organized and ensure all tools are maintained and accounted for.
• Always maintain a neat and presentable appearance.
• Order materials as required for job completion.
• Fill out paperwork daily and turn in as directed by manager.
• Upon leaving let customer know you are finished and verify satisfaction.
• Ensure work order is signed prior to leaving site.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
• Sell service whenever possible and when in areas with other businesses around. Leave a card or pamphlet with each completed project.
• Work together with other technicians and managers on ideas for improvement. Shared knowledge prevents making the same mistakes twice.
• Support other technicians to create an environment of positive communication.
• Show customers sense of urgency, discuss the project with them, if needed, and complete work in a timely manner.
• Actively contributes to a positive team mentality
• Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
• Demonstrates a knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Be a self starter.
• Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Be respectful and courteous at all times.
• Problem solving.
• Leave job site cleaner than when it was when you got there.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR for the past 7 years.
• Operating vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to work with other trades.
• Experience in all aspects of electrical systems including commercial, industrial, residential, electrical efficiency, fire alarm, lighting control systems, lighting types, heat tape, and experience with Xcel Energy and other electrical utility guidelines.
• Be flexible with constant changes and moving around.
