Job summary

Hickory Mechanical, Inc. is seeking skilled commercial plumbers to join our growing team in Hickory, NC.

You will install, repair, and maintain pipes and fixtures for water distribution and wastewater in commercial and industrial buildings, with emphasis on leading crews on job sites. Candidates should have 5+ years of commercial plumbing experience, read blueprints, hold a valid driver’s license, and commit to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

HMI is a 38-year-old mechanical and plumbing contractor located in Hickory, NC. We are not looking for short-term employees, we are looking for long-term teammates.

Commercial Plumber:

Our Plumbers are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial buildings. Experience managing crews on commercial job sites is critical.

Responsibilities:

• Assembly of tubing and fittings using couplings, clamps, bolts, screws, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, soldering, and brazing. D.W.V piping and Domestic water piping.
• Experienced installing No Hub, P.V.C, Copper, and PEX tubing.
• Review blueprints and building codes to determine work details and procedures. Study building plan to assess materials needed for jobs.
• Experience with underground piping and slabs is a must.
• Managing a team
• Experience with the installation of Commercial Plumbing Systems.
• Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports.

Required:

• Valid drivers license.
• 5+ plus years or more of commercial project work experience.
• Read and distinguish Blueprints.
• Experience managing crews on commercial job sites.
• Able to stand, lift, put together, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance.
• Hand Tools of your trade.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Always committed to safety.
• Excellent attendance.

Preferred :

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
• Medical Gas Certification.
