Job summary

Kilgore Industries, one of Texas’s largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing specialty contractors, is hiring an experienced Commercial Service Journeyman Electrician for our Austin team. You’ll perform electrical service, repair, preventive maintenance, and small-project work across various commercial facilities.

You’ll have the independence to manage your work in the field with the support and resources of an experienced Service team behind you.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial electrical service and troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose electrical problems and complete repairs with limited supervision.
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of commercial electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform service calls, preventive maintenance, electrical upgrades, and small-project work.
• Install and repair panels, circuits, lighting, controls, disconnects, and related components.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Follow the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, safety procedures, and regulations.
• Explain findings and recommended repairs clearly to customers.
• Document completed work, materials used, and follow-up recommendations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
• Work independently with support from the Service team.
