Job summary

Tecta America New England is seeking an experienced Estimator to provide accurate commercial roofing estimates and proposals. You will join a team that collaborates with customers, the sales force, and project management at multiple sites in the Northeast.

The role requires 3–5 years of estimating experience, proficiency with Excel, and the ability to read architectural drawings. On-site work at our MA locations and occasional travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
• Strong estimating skills; read/interpret drawings; manage multiple projects.
• Familiar with commercial roofing systems (TPO, modified, built up).
• Experience with The Edge estimating software is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to develop and maintain client/vendor relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to climb ladders and travel within assigned territory (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Estimate duties: pricing, change orders, securing competitive vendor pricing.
• Conduct onsite inspections to assess roofing conditions and estimate costs.
• Collaborate with sales to keep proposals accurate and competitive.
• Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and job meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
• Coordinate with Service and Production for seamless execution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the General Manager, the role of Estimator is responsible for providing quality commercial roofing estimating services and proposals. Responsibilities include attending pre-bid walkthroughs, job meetings and the preparation of detailed commercial roofing proposals. Working closely with the company's customers, sales team and project management team, this role ensures each proposal's accuracy and competitive pricing. This is an onsite position based at one of our locations in North Billerica MA, Brockton MA, Portland ME or Bloomfield CT.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all estimating duties including pricing and change orders, securing competitive pricing from vendors;
• Conduct onsite inspections to assess existing roofing conditions and analyze plans to accurately estimate project costs;
• Collaborate with sales team to ensure all proposals are accurate and competitive;
• Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and job meetings;
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and vendors with an emphasis on developing new business;
• Collaborate with Service and Production departments on job specifics to ensure seamless project execution; and
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or related fields, preferred or equivalent relevant experience;
• Commercial roofing estimating experience, 3-5 years;
• Strong estimation skills, including the ability to read/interpret architectural drawings and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Solid understanding of various commercial roofing systems and manufacturers including TPO, modified and built up;
• Experience with The Edge estimating software highly desirable;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required;
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and coworkers;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to climb ladders and visit commercial roof sites;
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout assigned territory. Air travel may be required <10%;

Working Conditions:

• Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsites including climbing ladders, construction materials, etc.
• Extensive sitting, standing, bending, standing, walking all expected activities. Ability to climb ladders and lift in excess of 25 lbs.

Compensation:

$80,000 to $100,000 annually.

This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, skills, training and experience. This position may also be eligible for bonuses, benefits and other forms of compensation.
