Job summary

Smart Care is seeking an experienced refrigeration technician to install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration systems across our national network. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work on walk-ins, display cases, ice machines, and related equipment.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, EPA 608 certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience servicing commercial refrigeration systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift equipment and work in confined spaces, hot/cold environments, and on ladders or lifts.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and failures.
• Work on walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-ins, ice machines, display cases, prep tables.
• Check refrigerant levels, locate leaks, and recover/evacuate/charge refrigerants.
• Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, controls, motors, fans, relays.
• Read wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Maintain service records and explain issues/solutions to customers.
• Keep tools, vehicles, and inventory organized and safe.
• Follow safety procedures and refrigerant regulations.
• Respond to emergency calls after hours when required.
