Commercial Production Accountant, Tribeca Enterprises

About the Role

Tribeca Enterprises is seeking an experienced Commercial Production Accountant dedicated to m ss ng p eces, its award-winning commercial production studio. This role is focused exclusively on the day-to-day accounting operations of m ss ng p eces and its commercial productions.

The Commercial Production Accountant will report to the Commercial Production Finance Manager and work closely with m ss ng p eces’ executive producers, line producers, production supervisors, and Tribeca’s VP of Finance.

This is a hands-on commercial production accounting position with significant responsibility for high-volume accounts payable and the timely reconciliation and closeout of completed production jobs. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with AICP-formatted budgets, production cost reporting, vendor payments, union payroll, and commercial job closeouts.

This role will follow a hybrid work schedule and can be performed from our Tribeca, NYC office or from Greenpoint Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for m ss ng p eces commercial productions from job setup through final closeout.
• Own high-volume production accounts payable, including vendor onboarding, invoice review and coding, approval routing, payment processing, payment-status tracking, and resolution of vendor inquiries.
• Maintain accurate job-cost records in Workday and related production systems.
• Review invoices, purchase orders, payroll reports, petty cash, credit-card activity, and other production expenses for proper job and AICP cost-code allocation.
• Prepare and maintain detailed production cost reports showing actual costs, outstanding commitments, and projected final costs.
• Reconcile production activity against approved AICP-formatted budgets and supporting accounting records.
• Work directly with executive producers, line producers, and production teams to identify missing costs, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile Wrapbook and other production-payroll activity, including applicable payroll taxes, fringes, and union costs.
• Maintain familiarity with commercial production requirements involving the DGA, IATSE, SAG-AFTRA, and other relevant unions and guilds.
• Drive the timely closeout of completed production jobs by identifying missing invoices, confirming vendor and payroll payments, resolving open commitments and discrepancies, and preparing final cost reports.
• Manage production expense activity processed through RAMP and other production-payment platforms.
• Support client billing and accounts receivable when needed; the primary accounts-receivable function is currently managed separately.
• Assist with cash-flow reporting and payment planning for active productions.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation supporting production expenses and completed-job reconciliations.
• Support client audits and production financial reviews as required.
• Assist the Commercial Production Finance Manager with production reporting, reconciliations, and related projects.
• Experience reconciling and coding high-volume corporate card activity, including American Express and RAMP, across multiple commercial production jobs

Qualifications

• At least five years of hands-on commercial production accounting experience is required.
• Extensive experience managing high-volume production accounts payable.
• Demonstrated experience independently reconciling and closing commercial production jobs.
• Strong knowledge of commercial production workflows and AICP-formatted budgets.
• Familiarity with DGA, IATSE, SAG-AFTRA, and other applicable union and guild requirements.
• Strong understanding of production payroll, payroll taxes and fringes, purchase orders, petty cash, credit-card expenses, vendor payments, and production cost-code allocation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data reconciliation, and analysis of large transaction sets.
• Experience with Workday or another corporate ERP is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Wrapbook, RAMP, Showbiz, or comparable production platforms.
• Ability to identify missing, duplicated, or misclassified costs and independently resolve discrepancies.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage numerous active productions and closeouts simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, producers, production teams, and finance leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Salary Range $90,000 - $110,000
