Parrish Tire Company in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Commercial Outside Service Technician I to mount, dismount and balance heavy service tires on off-road and customer fleets. The role requires outdoor work, a focus on safety, and customer satisfaction.

You must be on call for after-hours rotations, pass a DOT physical (paid by PTC), and pass random drug tests. 21+ yrs old with a valid SC driver's license; 1–2 years tire service experience preferred.

Qualifications

Must be on call to take after-hours calls according to the assigned rotation.
Must pass a DOT physical (paid by PTC).
Must pass random drug screens per DOT regulations.
For insurance purposes, applicants must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

Mount and dismount tires on heavy service equipment, passenger trucks, and light-duty trucks.
Balance tires using appropriate equipment.
Communicate safety concerns and customer issues with the service manager.
Mount/dismount customer wheels from fleets and perform tire repairs as needed.
Maintain knowledge of tire design and tread patterns.
Perform daily safety pre-trip inspections on the service truck.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Outside Service Technician is responsible for mounting, dismounting and balancing heavy service truck tires, along with passenger and light truck tires on emergency road service calls and on customer fleet parking lots. Employees in this position will primarily be working outdoors and must be focused on both safety and customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

Mount and dismount new/used and retreaded tires on heavy service equipment, passenger trucks and light duty trucks.
Balance tires utilizing appropriate equipment.
Communicate safety concerns, company vehicle issues and customer problems with service manager or store manager immediately.
Mount and dismounting of new/used customer wheels from customer fleets.
Responsible for various types of tire repairs.
Understand customer base and profiles.
Responsible for daily safety pre-trip inspections on service truck.
Keep service truck and service area clean to maintain a safe work environment.
Responsible for following all safety regulations, processes and procedures required by Parrish Tire Company, TIA, OSHA and NCDOL.
Understand tire design and tread patterns.
Must be available 24 hours/day during scheduled on-call shift.
Must become TIA Certified
- This certification and training will be provided by Parrish Tire Company if not already obtained

Requirements:

Required Physical Abilities:

Physical requirements of this position may require a range of activities. These can include, but are not limited to:

Lifting and carrying – the ability to lift and transport objects of specified weights, which may vary by job. For example, a job may require lifting up 25-50lbs regularly.
Standing and walking – this position will require standing and walking for periods of time
Bending and stooping – bending, stooping, or crouching are requiring to effectively preform essential duties of this position.
Reaching and pushing/pulling – the ability to reach for items, push carts, or pull equipment will be necessary for daily activities.
Sitting – there will be times this position will be needed to sit for prolonged periods of time.
This position will also be required to operate certain machinery and other equipment safely.

This position will require employees to work in certain weather conditions, such as heat, cold, as well as potentially confined spaces.
