Job summary

Staffmark Group in Downers Grove, IL is hiring a Commercial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems to keep production running smoothly.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance across plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC tasks, log work orders on a tablet, and travel locally. A high school diploma or trade cert and 2–5 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade certification preferred.
• 2–5 years in maintenance or related trades.
• Ability to read safety procedures, manuals and work orders.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Daily local travel required.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs per work orders.
• Perform minor plumbing tasks (unclog drains, repair leaks, replace fixtures).
• Complete routine carpentry and painting tasks (patch drywall, match paint, small repairs).
• Conduct minor electrical repairs within state law (replace outlets, switches, lighting components).
• Perform HVAC, equipment, and building system checks as needed; conduct site and asset inspections.
• Use a tablet/smartphone to complete work orders, log notes, upload photos, and submit reports.
• Maintain tools, obtain materials, and track expenses.
• Communicate professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Attend required safety training and follow OSHA and company safety standards.
• Provide estimates for larger repairs or projects.
• Support additional tasks as assigned.
