Job summary

LINX is hiring low voltage technicians in the Salt Lake City, UT area to install, terminate, and test structured cabling on commercial construction projects. You may travel to job sites within Utah and occasionally elsewhere, with a path from Technician I through Technician III and beyond.

The role offers wages from $20.00 to $29.00 per hour depending on tier and experience, with varied environments including offices, hospitals, education campuses, and data centers.

Qualifications

• Able to work on ladders and use power tools; able to lift, carry, and set up a 50-pound box or ladder.
• Must own low voltage hand tools (snips, strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
• Available to work 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime, and under deadline pressure.
• Must pass a 7-year criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Professional working proficiency in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cable runs.
• Pull, suspend, fireproof, terminate, and test cable in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local code.
• Build and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware.
• Troubleshoot low voltage cable systems and correct installation issues as they surface.
• Document every installation for compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
• Deliver organized, professional workmanship that meets spec on every run.
