Summary

This role is ideal for an experienced Commercial Loan Underwriter with a strong background in commercial banking credit analysis and risk assessment. The position focuses on underwriting commercial lending opportunities, analysing borrower financials, structuring credit recommendations, and supporting sound lending decisions. Candidates must have direct commercial bank underwriting experience and reside within the State of Georgia.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze commercial loan applications and assess borrower creditworthiness.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, cash flow analyses, and collateral information.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums and loan presentations.
• Evaluate commercial loan structures, risk exposure, and repayment capacity.
• Monitor existing credit relationships and identify emerging risk factors.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with lenders and relationship managers to support loan origination efforts.
• Provide recommendations regarding loan approvals, modifications, and renewals.

Experience You’ll Need

• Minimum 5 years of commercial loan underwriting experience within a commercial bank environment.
• Direct experience underwriting commercial real estate (CRE), commercial & industrial (C&I), owner-occupied, and business lending relationships.
• Commercial banking experience required.
• Must reside in Georgia.
• Insurance underwriting experience alone does not qualify.
