Job summary

gpac is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with at least 1 year of experience to join our growing litigation practice in Virginia. You will handle complex business disputes, interact directly with clients, and gain substantial courtroom exposure under experienced litigators.

Responsibilities include managing matters from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings, conducting research, and coordinating with partners on strategy.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting dispositive motions and managing discovery.
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and multiple matters.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including document review and written discovery.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings.
