We are partnering with a highly regarded national law firm to hire a Commercial Litigation Associate for its growing Texas practice. This opportunity can be based in either Austin or Dallas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial litigator who wants to take on sophisticated matters, meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure, and greater involvement in litigation strategy while working alongside experienced attorneys representing clients across the financial services and capital markets sectors.
The team is looking for an attorney with approximately 3–5 years of complex commercial litigation experience who is ready to take greater ownership throughout the lifecycle of a matter.
You will work on sophisticated commercial disputes involving clients operating within financial services, capital markets, and related industries.
Rather than being limited to research and behind-the-scenes support, the associate will have the opportunity to become meaningfully involved in the development and execution of litigation strategy.
Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:
Trial or arbitration experience is highly valued but is not required.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of substantive commercial litigation experience and a strong understanding of the different stages of complex litigation.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience beyond simply supporting matters. The team is particularly interested in attorneys who are comfortable exercising judgment, taking ownership of assignments, communicating with clients, and contributing to litigation strategy.
Candidates should have:
Experience involving financial services, banking, lending, securities, capital markets, or other highly regulated industries may be particularly relevant, although candidates with strong complex commercial litigation backgrounds from other industries are encouraged to apply.
This opportunity is particularly well suited for an attorney who wants to continue developing from a strong technical litigator into someone capable of managing matters, advising clients, exercising independent judgment, and taking increasing ownership of litigation strategy.
The team values attorneys who are proactive, intellectually curious, business-minded, entrepreneurial, and comfortable taking initiative.
You should be someone who doesn't simply identify a legal issue—you think through the available options, understand the potential business implications, and can articulate a recommended path forward.
