Job summary

Cairncross & Hempelmann, a Seattle-based full-service law firm, seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate with 4+ years of experience in general commercial litigation. Candidates must have a JD and active WSBA membership; familiarity with real estate, insolvency, or employment matters is a plus.

Essential duties include drafting pleadings, discovery, hearings, and client communications; strong research, writing, and advocacy skills are required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and JD from accredited institutions.
• Current WSBA membership.
• Experience in commercial and real estate litigation; insolvency or employment a plus.
• Excellent time and project management.

• Ability to learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for multiple matters.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders).
• Attend and manage hearings, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Communicate with clients and managing attorneys to address concerns and provide advice.
• Research, analyze, and synthesize case law, statutes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with paralegals and staff to manage documents and ESI.
• Maintain attention to detail and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
