Commercial Lines Account Manager - Remote Position

Full Time or Part Time Positions Available

Coverage, Inc., an award-winning independent insurance agency in Chantilly, Virginia, is seeking an experienced commercial lines account manager. Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of all lines of commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through the agency.
  • Thorough understanding of brokerage operations, including claims handling, commercial lines rating, agency management systems, and applicable insurance laws/codes.
  • Experience with electronic environments; excellent automation skills, including MIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systems.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships with clients and staff.
  • High self-motivation and self-direction.
Duties
  1. Support producers’ sales efforts by developing complete submissions for new and renewal business and obtaining quotes in accordance with agency marketing procedures.
  2. Conduct annual reviews and risk exposure analyses of renewal policies, ensuring proper coverage based on information from clients and producers.
  3. Maintain MIS client files, ensuring proper documentation of policies, endorsements, invoices, binders, certificates of insurance, and activities, following agency procedures and timelines.
  4. Manage renewal expiration lists, binders, audits, and aged receivables per agency guidelines.
  5. Respond promptly to client inquiries, emails, mail, and company requests following agency protocols.
  6. Review processing items to confirm receipt and accuracy; prepare billing in line with agency credit and collection policies.
  7. Participate in training courses to enhance insurance and sales skills. Stay informed about underwriting requirements and industry trends through journals and bulletins.
  8. Assist with special projects as requested by management.
