Job summary

D.L. Evans Bank, a community bank serving Southern Idaho and Northern Utah, seeks a Commercial Loan Officer to evaluate and underwrite commercial loan requests, meet applicants, and promote bank services.

You will monitor construction and development loans, handle collection activities, and support business development efforts in the community. The role emphasizes thorough credit analysis, adherence to policies, and delivering prompt, professional service to borrowers and prospects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three to five years of commercial lending experience required.
• Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness required.
• Knowledge of bank lending and collections programs, policies, and procedures required.
• Active license number with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry or the ability to obtain such.
• Familiarity with property management and maintenance procedures preferred.
• Strong interviewing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record of community/civic/trade organization involvement and business development.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that customers' requests and questions are promptly resolved.
• Interviews, takes applications, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests, discussing loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation to elicit positive responses.
• Completes lending operations in accordance with bank policies and legal requirements.
• Informs customers of bank loan policies and services.
• Analyzes and evaluates loan requests and approves loan within specified limits or prepares submission for Senior lender review if over limit.
• Identifies problems with credit information and coordinates with relevant parties to resolve them.
• Helps review construction loan advances on commercial properties.
• Conducts property inspections as assigned.
• Reviews loan reports and renews or declines as needed.
• Helps with collection of delinquent accounts.
• Establishes professional relationships with customers and trade professionals.
• Educates customers regarding bank products and services.
