This position requires a thorough understanding of the dynamics of commercial lending, a strong financial background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for developing relationships and serving our business clients.
35% Acquire new commercial relationships and expand existing commercial relationships within the Credit Union. Conduct financial analysis, balance sheet and income statement, statement of cash flows and cash flow projection assessments. Perform credit risk assessments and evaluate the overall financial health and creditworthiness of borrowers. Present recommendations to senior management and loan committee for approval.
20% Collaborate with loan officers, borrowers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and documentation. Monitor and manage member relationships.
15% Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to commercial lending.
15% Work with Loan Assistant in preparation of loan documents and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
10% Participate in meetings with members to understand their financing needs and provide appropriate product solutions.
5% Other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum of 5 years in banking with at least 2 years of experience in commercial lending, and financial analysis.
(1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and credit analysis. Credit analyst experience is a strength, though not required. Knowledge of the commercial loan products including, Term Loans, Advancing Term Loans, Revolving Lines of Credit, Guidance Lines of Credit, and Letters of Credit. Knowledge of Treasury products and the benefits they provide. Knowledge of guidelines for loan programs and various types of loans such as SBA (7a, 7a Express & 504) and USDA is an asset, but not required. Excellent relationship development skills and communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word. Knowledge of commercial lending regulations and compliance standards is a plus. Ability to think critically and make sound judgments based on financial data. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues. Self-motivated and eager to learn about commercial lending practices. Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards, professional decorum, and confidentiality.
This role requires sitting at a computer for most of the day. This role would also require the ability to file files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.
The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, FL market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the office to effectively collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities. It requires the ability to actively participate in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors. The normal expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 5:00p.m. Occasional after-hours work or travel may be required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or client meetings. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
