Job summary

Goodwin Tucker Group in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician. You will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain a wide range of equipment, servicing restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, and other commercial customers.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial foodservice equipment.
• Work with restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels to keep kitchens safe and efficient.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas, refrigeration and plumbing issues.
• Repair and maintain ovens, fryers, griddles, steamers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigeration equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Complete service calls accurately and professionally.
• Maintain service records.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Keep service vehicle and tools organized and in good condition.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial foodservice equipment.

You’ll work directly with restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, institutions, and other commercial customers to keep their kitchens operating safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, gas, refrigeration, and plumbing-related equipment issues
• Repairing and maintaining commercial cooking equipment
• Servicing ovens, fryers, griddles, steamers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigeration equipment, and other foodservice equipment
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing equipment failures and determining the best repair solution
• Completing service calls accurately and professionally
• Communicating with customers regarding equipment problems and recommended repairs
• Maintaining accurate service records
• Following all safety procedures and manufacturer specifications
• Keeping your service vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and maintained

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands what it means to provide excellent service.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Previous experience repairing commercial kitchen or foodservice equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of gas, electrical, refrigeration, or plumbing systems is a plus
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to work independently and manage a service schedule
• Professional appearance and a positive attitude

Industry certifications are a plus, but we’re willing to invest in the right technician.
