COMMERCIAL KITCHEN EQUIPMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Nazareth, PA
Join a growing commercial food service equipment company where your work truly matters — every call is a business depending on you to get their kitchen back up and running. This is a fully independent, hands‑on role for a tech who's ready to be trusted with the keys, the truck, and the work from week one, not months into training.
THE BASICS
Location: Nazareth, PA
Pay: $26–$44/hour
Service Area: 50-mile radius from home base, covering Allentown, north to Wilkes-Barre, south to Quakertown, west to Reading, and east to Easton (occasional New Jersey jobs for select customers)
Schedule: Full‑time, typical hours 8am–5pm with flexibility to start earlier; overtime is common in this trade but not mandatory
On‑Call: Weekend rotation (Friday night through Sunday), currently 1-in-4 weekends, moving to 1-in-5 as the team grows; on-call pay is port‑to‑port and only kicks in when you're dispatched on a call
Reports To: Owner/Service Dispatcher
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Check in each morning with the service dispatcher to get your job assignments
- Drive your take‑home service vehicle to customer sites and handle reactive, same‑day service calls (this is an emergency‑response role — no two days look the same)
- Diagnose and repair both hot‑side and cold‑side commercial kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, ice machines, walk‑in coolers, refrigeration, etc.)
- Service building HVAC rooftop units (RTUs) as needed
- Use mobile field‑service software on your own phone to write and submit invoices on‑site
- Call the dispatcher when each job wraps to get your next assignment
- Be willing to cross‑train across trades rather than sticking to one specialty (refrigeration, appliance, and HVAC work all come with the territory)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:
- Clean driving record (a DUI is disqualifying due to insurance requirements)
- Physically capable of climbing ladders, working on rooftops, and carrying/handling a 30‑lb refrigerant bottle
- EPA 608/609 certification for refrigeration
- Hands‑on, independent experience — able to be handed the keys and go, without needing training
- Comfortable being cross‑trained across hot‑side, cold‑side, and HVAC work rather than sticking to one specialty
Nice to Have (not required):
- Experience across multiple trades (refrigeration, commercial appliance repair, and light HVAC) rather than just one
- Familiarity with mobile field‑service/invoicing software
- General electrical, plumbing, or carpentry skills (refrigeration work often touches all three)
