Job summary

Nextech in Kentucky is seeking a Commercial Journeyman Electrician to own safe, high-quality electrical work for our customers while mentoring apprentices.

With 4+ years of commercial experience and state licensure, you’ll read blueprints, install systems, and coordinate with other trades on active job sites. Nextech offers robust safety training, comprehensive benefits, PTO, and a strong retirement plan.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial electrical experience.
  • State Journeyman license if required by state.
  • Familiar with NEC and local codes.
  • Own basic hand tools for electrical work.
  • Experience installing electrical systems in commercial environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical systems.
  • Bend pipe, pull wire, run conduit, and install outlets and fixtures.
  • Read blueprints, wiring schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Mentor and lead apprentice electricians, providing clear direction and support.
  • Maintain workflow schedules and help ensure productivity objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate effectively with other trades on active job sites.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional.
  • Make safety a priority on every job site and follow company policies.
  • Participate in Nextech safety and training programs while growing your technical expertise.
  • Travel to assigned customer sites as required.

What You’ll Be Doing

Bring your commercial electrical expertise to the field and take ownership of delivering safe, high-quality work for Nextech customers while helping develop the next generation of electricians.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical systems.

Min Compensation

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced commercial electrician who combines technical expertise with dependability, strong judgment, and a commitment to doing the job right.

  • 4+ years of commercial experience is required
  • State Licensed (Journeyman) if required by state
  • Must be familiar with updated NEC/Local codes
  • Must have all basic hand tools for electrical work
  • Experience installing electrical systems in a commercial environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment
Physical Requirements

This is an active field role requiring the ability to safely perform commercial electrical work in a variety of job-site conditions. You should be able to:

  • Sit, stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Use manual dexterity and hand tools
  • Operate safely on ladders and elevated platforms
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
