Job summary

Bopat Electric Company in Maryland is seeking experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our construction team. You will install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades, reading prints and laying out installations with minimal supervision.

Candidates should have a Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license, 5+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of EMT and conduit.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
• Ability to read prints and perform layout independently.
• Experience with EMT and rigid conduit, feeders, panels, transformers, switchgear, terminations.
• Experience with 3-phase systems (120/208V, 277/480V) and NEC safety practices.
• Ability to guide apprentices when needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Read blueprints, interpret drawings, and lay out installations.
• Install and bend conduit, pull feeders and branch circuits, complete wiring and terminations.
• Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, power distribution.
• Plan daily work, identify material needs, and complete installations with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep projects moving.
• Help train and mentor apprentices while maintaining quality and productivity.
• Follow NEC requirements and jobsite safety procedures.

What We Need

Bopat Electric is looking for experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians to join our construction team in Maryland.

We're looking for electricians who know their trade, can read prints, handle layout, and take ownership of their work without constant supervision. Our projects include commercial new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and electrical upgrades.

What You Will Do

• Install commercial electrical systems on new construction, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and electrical upgrades
• Read blueprints, interpret electrical drawings, and independently lay out installations
• Install and bend conduit, pull feeders and branch circuits, and complete wiring and terminations
• Install panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, power distribution, and other commercial electrical equipment
• Plan daily work, identify material needs, and complete assigned installations with minimal supervision
• Work with foremen, project managers, and other trades to keep projects moving
• Help train and mentor apprentices while maintaining quality and productivity
• Follow NEC requirements and jobsite safety procedures
  

What You Bring

• Active Maryland Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or a qualifying license from another jurisdiction with applicable reciprocity
• 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience
• Ability to independently read prints, perform layout, and complete commercial electrical installations
• Strong hands‑on experience with EMT and rigid conduit, feeders, panels, transformers, switchgear, and terminations
• Experience working with commercial three-phase electrical systems, including 120/208V and 277/480V
• Working knowledge of the NEC and commercial construction safety practices
• Ability to work independently and help direct apprentices when needed
• Reliable transportation and ability to report to project sites throughout Maryland
• Valid driver's license
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred

Compensation ranges may vary based on individual experience. Final offers may differ from the posted range depending on a candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and the specific role offered. This role includes overtime and double time eligibility in addition to the base rate.

Compensation Range: $30 USD - $45 USD
