D&L Electric Company, Inc is seeking a Commercial Journeyman Electrician – Power, Controls, & Field Lead to join our Houston-based team. This role combines skilled installation of commercial electrical and control systems with leadership duties on active job sites.

You will mentor apprentices, coordinate daily workflows with the Foreman, and ensure work complies with NEC and company standards while maintaining top safety practices.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and analyze electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Complete set of basic personal electrical hand tools.
• Ability to work safely from ladders and MEWPs at heights of 40 feet or greater.

Responsibilities

• Read, analyze, and interpret commercial electrical blueprints to install per NEC and company standards.
• Lead and assist Foremen with delegating and inspecting daily site activities for Apprentices.
• Install underground PVC conduit and manage trenching, backfilling, and tamping procedures.
• Perform precision bends and routing of EMT conduit with pre-manufactured fittings.
• Terminate electrical equipment including main distribution panels, transformers, and switches.

The Opportunity

As a Journeyman Electrician at D&L Electric Company, Inc, you will play an integral role in building and installing high-quality commercial electrical and control systems across our job sites. In addition to mastering complex technical installations, you will serve as a key field lead, assisting the Foreman in orchestrating daily workflows and mentoring apprentices. How You Will Make An Impact

• Read, analyze, and interpret commercial electrical blueprints to execute installations strictly per NEC and company standards.
• Lead and assist Foremen with delegating, orchestrating, and inspecting daily site activities for Apprentice Electricians.
• Install underground PVC conduit (), managing site trenching, backfilling, and tamping procedures.
• Precision bend and route EMT conduit ( for custom bends, offsets, and saddles; using pre-manufactured fittings).
• Route, push, and pull fish tapes and wire feeders ranging from #12 AWG up to 750 KCMIL.
• Terminate complex electrical equipment, including main distribution panels, dry-type transformers, and disconnect switches.
• Wire and install commercial line-voltage devices, receptacles, switches, MC cable systems, and low-voltage lighting control components.
• Perform high-elevation work safely from ladders and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) at heights of 40 feet or higher.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Proven ability to read and analyze electrical blueprints, single-line diagrams, and schematics.
• Complete set of basic personal electrical hand tools.
• Physical ability to work comfortably from ladders and MEWPs at heights of 40 feet or greater.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• 4 or more years of hands-on experience in commercial electrical power and control systems.
• Strong leadership, communication, and site organization skills to direct apprentice crews effectively.
• Driven, respectful, punctual, and committed to continuous professional growth.
