Pro Tech Mechanical in South Texas seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment across the service area. You will handle complex service work, support large projects, and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and colleagues.

The ideal candidate has extensive HVAC experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of commercial HVAC service experience; seven+ years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and applicable licenses/certifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Professional, customer-focused communication; willingness to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems.

Position Summary

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment for customers throughout the area. You’ll handle complex service work, support larger projects, and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and other technicians.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
• Troubleshoot equipment and complete planned maintenance
• Perform work related to service agreements, quoted projects, and demand-service calls
• Clearly explain findings, recommendations, and completed work to customers
• Support and mentor less-experienced technicians
• Coordinate materials, parts, subcontractors, and workflow for larger projects
• Document job progress using mobile service and reporting software
• Follow company safety standards and fleet requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Five or more years of commercial HVAC service experience; seven or more years preferred
• High school diploma or GED
• Applicable licenses, registrations, and certifications
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
• Professional, customer-focused communication
• Willingness to help and mentor other technicians

Technical Experience

We’re especially interested in technicians with experience in several of the following areas:

• Split, mini-split, and multi-zone systems
• VRV/VRF heat-pump and heat-recovery systems
• Large commercial rooftop units
• Water-source heat pumps
• Self-contained and CRAC systems, including Liebert, Data-Aire, and Stulz
• Air-cooled and water-cooled chilled-water systems
• Building automation systems and OEM diagnostic software
• Reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints

You do not need experience with every system listed to be considered. We encourage you to apply if you have a strong commercial HVAC foundation and are interested in continuing to grow your technical expertise.

This is a hands-on field position involving indoor and outdoor work in varying weather and jobsite conditions. Technicians may be required to climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, crawl, lift equipment and materials, and meet applicable respiratory-protection and safety requirements.
