Job summary

Engineering Excellence in Michigan seeks an experienced HVAC technician to diagnose and repair commercial HVAC equipment, perform start-ups, and deliver quality workmanship. You will use smartphones for business systems and coordinate with dispatchers to support service calls.

The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and effective communication. Minimum 4+ years, EPA 608 license, and ability to read drawings are required; overtime/weekend work may be needed with opportunities for training

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in the commercial HVAC field.
  • EPA 608 Refrigeration license, Universal preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and production diagrams.
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Successful background check per company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve customer concerns in commercial environments.
  • Service heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment and accessories.
  • Perform equipment start-ups as required.
  • Navigate smartphones to support business systems and dispatch.
  • Maintain safe, high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare material requisition forms and manage truck stock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving customer concerns in commercial environments.
  • Perform service on commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment as well as accessories.
  • Perform start-ups on equipment as required.
  • Ability to navigate and use smart phone to support business systems
  • Proper use of all IVR systems and proper check in with EE dispatchers.
  • Responsible for delivery and removal of equipment needed to complete service work.
  • Responsible for providing excellent service to commercial customers and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer concerns, questions or problems in an effective manner.
  • Prepare material requisition forms to ensure proper truck stock levels.
  • Other duties include performing maintenance on equipment, servicing and/or cleaning IAQ products, soldering, welding, brazing, and performing minor field fabrication.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the commercial HVAC industry
  • EPA 608 Refrigeration license, Universal preferred.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in the commercial HVAC field.
  • Able to operate all necessary tools and equipment to perform various projects.
  • Adept at servicing commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment, as well as related accessories.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the delivery of customer-focused service.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and production diagrams.
  • The ability to work overtime and weekend hours as required.
  • The successful incumbent must be able to meet the minimum requirements for our background check criteria.
  • Minimum Experience: 4+ years
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
