Laconia Refrigeration & New England Mechanical, a family-owned commercial HVAC and refrigeration company, seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment across New England. This Level 3 role requires 5–8 years hands-on experience and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

You will travel throughout New England, service rooftops, walk-ins, and refrigerations, and mentor junior technicians while maintaining safety and documentation

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Strong ability to diagnose HVAC/R issues and perform repairs with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication, organization, documentation and customer-service skills.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, repair, install, inspect, and maintain commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Service rooftop units, walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigerated cases, ice machines, and related systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and complete repairs independently when appropriate.
• Provide guidance and field support to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
• Document labor, materials, service details, and approvals using ServiceTitan and tablet.

As we continue to grow and add new service contracts, we are looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician who can work independently, solve problems in the field, and deliver high-quality service to our customers.

This Level 3 position is designed for a technician with approximately 5-8 years of hands-on HVAC/R experience who is comfortable diagnosing and completing repairs with minimal supervision. You will also have opportunities to support less-experienced technicians and share your technical knowledge with the team.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, install, inspect, and maintain commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Service rooftop units, walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigerated cases, ice machines, and related systems.
• Complete preventive maintenance, including system cleaning, filter replacement, coil washing, equipment inspections, and calibration.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and complete repairs independently when appropriate.
• Provide technical guidance and field support to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
• Document labor, materials, service details, and customer approvals accurately using ServiceTitan and a company-provided tablet.
• Stay in communication with dispatchers and office staff regarding service calls, job status, documentation, and additional customer needs.
• Follow established safety procedures, including PPE and fall-protection requirements.
• Keep your assigned company vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule, running from Friday at 8:00 a.m. through the following Friday at 8:00 a.m.
• Travel to customer locations throughout New England, with occasional overnight stays covered by the company.

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 5-8 years of hands-on commercial and/or residential HVAC/R experience.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• New Hampshire Gas Service Technician license required when performing applicable gas work in New Hampshire. Qualified technicians from another state may be able to use documented accumulated hours toward obtaining the required New Hampshire certification.
• Strong ability to diagnose HVAC/R issues and perform repairs with limited supervision.
• Working knowledge of applicable state and local codes and current industry standards.
• Ability to provide standard HVAC/R hand tools and commonly used personal power tools. The company provides designated specialty equipment.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to stay composed and work effectively when handling urgent service needs.
• Dependable, self-motivated, honest, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to safely work on ladders, rooftops, lifts, in basements, attics, crawl spaces, confined spaces, and outdoor environments.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle tools, equipment, or components weighing approximately 75-100 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
• Employment is contingent upon completion of job-related background and motor vehicle record checks where permitted by applicable law.

Compensation & Benefits

• $35-$50 per hour, depending on experience.
• Full-time, W-2 employment.
