Job summary

RSC Mechanical is seeking Refrigeration Service Technicians to install, maintain, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including walk-ins and rack systems. You will troubleshoot complex systems, read schematics, and perform safety-focused tasks while delivering top-tier customer service.

Join a family‑owned, growing team. You will log reports via mobile tools, participate in on-call rotations after training, and work with diverse clients from restaurants to hospitals.

Qualifications

  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems with confidence.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems.
  • Prioritize safety; secure work areas and shut down power when needed.
  • Log service reports using mobile/digital platforms.
  • Provide professional service during emergency calls.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
  • Collaborate with customers, dispatch, and technicians to ensure smooth service.
  • Communicate professionally with store managers and team members.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and service commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including walk-ins, reach-ins, rack systems, and ice machines.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems with confidence and precision.
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Prioritize safety by securing work areas, shutting down power when necessary, and identifying the root cause of system failures.
  • Handle and manage refrigerants safely in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, manuals, and schematics.
  • Repair and replace compressors, motors, fans, and other critical components.
  • Provide professional and reliable service during emergency service calls.
  • Work with EMS systems, including CPC, Tracer, and HMI.
  • Collaborate with customers, dispatch, and fellow technicians to ensure a seamless service experience.
  • Accurately log service reports using mobile and digital platforms.
  • Communicate professionally with store managers, supervisors, and team members.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including work tickets and timesheets, accurately and on time.
  • Deliver high-level customer service to retail and commercial clients, including restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, schools, hotels, hospitals, and military bases.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Experience and working knowledge of HVAC and commercial refrigeration preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and in a team setting.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
  • Technicians are expected to provide their own standard hand tools.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and digital work order systems.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation after training and travel as needed.
Schedule
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with overtime as required.
On-Call Requirements:
  • Participation in an on-call rotation following the training period. Must always be available and responsive during assigned on-call shifts.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, odors, gases, mechanical/electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and varying weather conditions.
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, crouch, and occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read printed and electronic materials.
  • Ability to lift and/or exert force up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent driving of motor vehicles.
