Job summary

Carrier is seeking an HVAC Chiller Technician to service and maintain commercial chillers. You will participate in startup and commissioning, perform diagnostics, and execute routine maintenance.

You will build strong customer relationships, interpret blueprints, and adhere to safety protocols. Carrier provides a company vehicle and tools, with growth opportunities in a global leader in climate solutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years experience in the HVAC industry.
• 3+ years experience with centrifugal chillers.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops.
• Valid driver's license and insurable by company.

What you'll do

• Participate in startup and commissioning of new units, applying expertise to support a state-of-the-art facility.
• Perform diagnostic tests, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions, and execute regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units.
• Review and interpret regulatory requirements and technical documents, including blueprints and diagrams.
• Cultivate strong customer relationships and ensure timely escalation of issues for resolution when necessary.
• Prioritize safety by adhering to licensing requirements, operating equipment safely, recognizing HVAC-related hazards, completing safety training, and implementing effective safety measures.

Required Qualifications

• Possess High School Diploma/GED
• 5+ years working experience in the HVAC Industry
• 3+ years working with centrifugal chillers
• EPA Universal
• Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50lbs, climb a ladder and work on rooftops
• Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat of extended period of times
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier

Valued, But Not Required

• OSHA 30 Certification
• Basic understanding of building automation controls (BOMAC)
• Experience with data centers
• Experience with Steam Turbines
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge of ServiceMax

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $38.00 - $76.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
