Job summary

J.R. & Co., Inc. is hiring a Commercial Glazier in Kansas City, MO.

Immediate start for both newer and seasoned glaziers to install storefronts, curtain walls, and glass systems as part of the building envelope. You will learn from journeymen and lead complex projects while maintaining safety and quality on-site. The role offers a daytime, in-person schedule in Kansas City with frequent overtime based on project needs.

Qualifications

• 1-5+ years experience in construction or commercial glazing (preferred).
• OSHA 10 hour training (minimum) (or ability to obtain).
• Aerial/scissor lift certification (preferred).
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow directions and pay attention to details.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and clean up project sites to ensure safe work practices and OSHA compliance at all times.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Accurately measure, cut, and fabricate aluminum framing, glass, and related materials.
• Install commercial glazing systems, including storefront, curtain wall, windows, entrances, and doors, and seal them weathertight.
• Safely operate lifts, suction cups, and rigging equipment, and properly manage all assigned tools and materials.
• Report any safety concerns immediately, stopping work if necessary for safety.
• Report to the job on time and ready to work, and follow company policies and standards of conduct at all times.

Salary Range: $20.00-$38.00/Hour DOE

Required Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:

• 1-5+ years experience in construction or commercial glazing (preferred)

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
• Able to obtain security clearance on military job sites (Preferred)
• Travel, weekends, and overtime are required (based on project schedules)
• Ability to perform elevated work (lifts, scaffolding, ladders, heights)
• Bending, kneeling, walking, lifting, carrying (up to 75 lbs) (Daily)
• Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day)
• Valid transportation required to report to job sites
