Job description

About Megaport

We're not your typical tech company - and we don't want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We're publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture

We're a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here - collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone's voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We're committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

The Role

Join our Commercial Finance team as a Commercial Finance Analyst in the United States for Megaport. You will serve as a commercial finance representative in our NorthAmerican team, acting as a key liaison between Megaport's US business operations and the Commercial Finance team at our Australian headquarters.

This critical position plays an integral role on the Commercial Finance team in delivering commercial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment across regions. With a primary focus on supporting the US sales organization, the analyst will contribute to deal evaluation, pricing strategies, commission management, and business expansion initiatives, fostering collaboration across international teams to drive sustainable growth.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Commercial Support & Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with US sales and the operations teams to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and act as a trusted finance advisor.
  • Deal & Pricing: Support the US sales team on deal structures through pricing, discount, product and deal structure requests, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and strategies.
  • Partnership & Business Expansion: Evaluate new partnerships and business expansion opportunities with the US sales and partner teams by developing data-driven business cases & recommendations to leadership.
  • Commission Structure & Execution: Support the design, analysis, and management of commission structures, ensuring alignment with company strategies, and the timely and accurate execution of payments.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular financial reports, including performance reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis to drive commercial success. Develop dashboards and enhanced KPI metrics to measure and support the continued success of commercial strategies.
  • Regional Support: Act as the on-the-ground finance contact for the US team, addressing real-time financial queries and coordinating with the Australian team to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Bridge time zone and geographical gaps to foster seamless communication with the Australian finance team, sharing insights and best practices.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in a commercial finance or financial planning & analysis (FP&A) role, ideally within a global organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of working independently while staying connected to a remote team.
  • Experience working with sales organizations will be highly regarded.
What We Offer
  • Flexible working environment - a remote-first culture with coworking options available.
  • Generous leave plans - including 4 weeks of paid annual leave, parental leave, birthday leave, and a purchased annual leave program.
  • Health and wellness support - through a wellness allowance and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Comprehensive learning support - generous study and training allowance plus 5 days of paid study leave
  • Creative, modern workspaces - designed to inspire when you're not working remotely
