Role Description

The Commercial Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Charlotte, NC. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial flooring, tile, and countertop projects, including reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating pricing with vendors and internal teams. The role involves analyzing labor, materials, and schedule requirements, preparing bid packages, and supporting project managers with budget updates and change orders. The Commercial Estimator will collaborate with construction partners and internal stakeholders to clarify scope, align expectations, and ensure accurate and timely proposals. Daily activities include maintaining estimating tools and databases, tracking market pricing, and contributing to process improvements that support efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong construction estimating skills, including experience with commercial projects and familiarity with flooring, tile, countertops, and roofs.
• Proficiency in budgeting and cost analysis, with the ability to develop, track, and adjust project budgets throughout the bid and build process.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams, and for presenting clear, concise estimates and proposals.
• Project management skills to coordinate bid timelines, manage documentation, and support project teams from pre-construction through completion.
• Experience with construction drawings, specifications, and takeoff software; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant estimating tools.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines.
• Relevant experience in commercial construction or building materials; prior estimating experience in flooring, tile, or countertops is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
