Job summary

Vortex Doors is seeking a Commercial Entry Systems Installer & Service Specialist to install, service, and maintain commercial doors and related hardware at local businesses. You will review work orders, pick up a fully stocked service vehicle, and perform precise door alignment and hardware installation.

Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical issues, test operators, document work, and guide customers through fixes to ensure safety and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in commercial door service is a plus (not required).
• Familiarity with door types, brands, and hardware is a plus.
• Skilled with hand and power tools; able to read a tape measure and work with fractions.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and customer communication.
• Detail oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs; bend and lift repeatedly; climb ladders up to 20’; work on knees for extended periods; and operate power tools proficiently.
• Ongoing training provided to support your growth.

Picture your day: you pick up a fully stocked service vehicle, review work orders, and head to a local business where a storefront door needs precise alignment. By mid-morning you’re replacing a closer and dialing in access control hardware. After lunch, you troubleshoot a faulty operator, document your work, and walk the customer through the fix. Every stop is a chance to make buildings safer and keep businesses moving.

What You’ll Do

• Install, service, and maintain commercial and industrial doors with professional tools and equipment.

Schedule

• Full‑time within business hours of 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime and on‑call needs.
