Job summary

Omiz Staffing Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Washington, DC area to lead HVAC and plumbing design efforts with 8+ years of experience and a PE license. This role drives design leadership and participates in client meetings with the mechanical team.

You will mentor engineers, develop project work plans, ensure design basis and quality, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software.
• Strong presentation and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide mechanical engineers and designers.

• Lead system selections, basis of design and quality control.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with the team.

Job description

Client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 8+ years of HVAC and Plumbing design experience to join our team.

This position will provide senior mechanical engineering and design leadership to our growing local Mechanical team and national team, lead projects and represent the Mechanical discipline during client meetings.

We are looking for a licensed Professional Engineer with experience in all aspects of design and documentation with leading edge Commercial project experience.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to Mechanical engineers and designers.
• Develop and manage project work plans.
• Responsible for the systems selections, basis of design and quality of the work product.
• Attend project meetings and communicate effectively with project team members.
• Represent the Mechanical discipline at client meetings and effectively communicate with clients as needed.
• Coordination of the mechanical/plumbing design with other project disciplines and the Project Manager.
• Construction phase support including submittal review and RFI response.
• Maintain and develop mechanical/plumbing standards in collaboration with senior engineering staff.
• Assist the Mechanical Director with mechanical/plumbing work product quality control.
• Act as a senior mechanical engineering and design resource, providing assistance and guidance to project engineers and designers in both HVAC and plumbing design.
• Confer openly and directly in a respectful and professional manner with other personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of focused mechanical/plumbing design experience.
• Mechanical Engineering Professional license.
• Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Trane Trace load calculation software.
• Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
