Job summary

Altorfer Cat is seeking a Union Power Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electric power generation and industrial equipment. You will work within the Local 399 union with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include paralleling switchgear, communicating with customers, and documenting technical reports, while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of experience in electric power generator maintenance and repair.
• Ability to write technical reports and use company resources for information.
• Strong communication and independent work capability.

• Provide exceptional service to customers by performing maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs to Electric Power Generation and Industrial equipment.
• This includes paralleling switchgear and electrical controls.

• You should have a minimum of four years of experience in electric power generator maintenance and repair.
• Demonstrate your ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of efficiency and cleanliness.
• Good decision-making skills and the ability to follow directions are essential to excel in this role.
• Represent Altorfer's professional image with your effective communication skills and strong work ethic.
• Show your organizational prowess by writing technical reports and using resources for information when needed.
• Basic knowledge of Office software, preferably MS Word, Excel, and email, is expected.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

This position offers an exciting mix of field and shop environments, primarily at customer job sites. As a Union Power Field Service Technician, you may be required to walk, bend, and lift up to 75-100lbs on a continuous basis. Safety is paramount, and appropriate safety equipment will be provided as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
