Job summary

Apex Waste Solutions in Steamboat Springs, CO is seeking a Commercial Driver to operate waste collection trucks on designated routes. You will perform pre-trip inspections, load and unload waste and recyclables, interact with customers, and maintain safety standards on every shift.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement, has a clean driving record, and can lift 50+ lbs. This full-time role offers health benefits, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle (trash truck, roll-off truck, etc.) to collect waste and recyclables.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely pickups.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Load, transport, and unload trash, recycling, and other waste materials at designated disposal facilities.
• Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any questions or concerns.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including PPE and handling hazardous materials if applicable.
• Assist with additional tasks such as cleaning and maintaining the vehicle, reporting missed pickups, and documenting daily work logs.
• Communicate with dispatchers and other team members to ensure route efficiency and timely service.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste and recyclables.
