Island Facility Services is seeking a Commercial Door Technician to install and service a wide range of door systems across Hawaii. You will diagnose complex issues, manage parts inventory, and support inter-island travel while maintaining a four-hour response commitment.

You will lead advanced installations, mentor junior technicians, and ensure safety and quality in a high-precision environment with a strong service culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in commercial door service or installation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting motorized systems and low-voltage components.
• Willingness to travel inter-island up to 50% of the time to support remote clients.
• Ability to operate independently on complex technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install and service automatic, roll-up, storefront, and fire doors.
• Diagnose mechanical and low-voltage issues involving sensors, motors and control boards.
• Utilize heavy equipment and tools including telehandlers, welding gear, and concrete coring tools.
• Coordinate with external vendors to integrate fire alarms and access control systems.
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 technicians to uphold safety and quality standards.
• Execute rigorous quality checks to prevent rework on completed work orders.
• Maintain service records and parts inventory for island-wide operations.

• Location: Pearl City, HI (Onsite / 50% Travel Required).

The Opportunity: You will serve as a specialized technical expert, ensuring the security and functionality of Hawaii’s most prominent commercial facilities. You will be empowered to lead advanced installations and repairs while maintaining our vital 4-hour response commitment across the islands.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Install and service a comprehensive range of door types, including automatic, large motorized roll-up, storefront, and fire doors.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and low-voltage electrical issues involving sensors, motors, and advanced control boards.
• Utilize heavy equipment and specialized tools, including telehandlers, welding equipment, and concrete coring tools.
• Coordinate with external vendors to ensure seamless integration of fire alarms and access control systems.
• Mentor Tech 1 and Tech 2 technicians to uphold industry-leading safety and quality standards across the field.
• Execute rigorous quality control checks on all completed work orders to eliminate the need for rework.
• Maintain meticulous service records and parts inventory to support our “Island-Wide Urgency” operational model.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in commercial door service or installation.
• Proven proficiency in troubleshooting motorized systems and low-voltage components.
• Absolute willingness to travel inter-island up to 50% of the time to support remote clients.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently with no supervision on complex technical tasks.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• AAADM Certification or completion of a specialized Commercial Door trade program.
• 4-8 years of experience as a Door Journeyman (Tech 3 level).
• Certifications in rolling steel, high-speed, and fire-door systems.
• Full heavy-equipment operator certifications, including scissor-lift and forklift.
