Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. in Raleigh, NC seeks a Commercial Construction Superintendent to direct on-site workflow, uphold safety and quality standards, and lead site teams and subcontractors in alignment with the project schedule.

You will collaborate with the project manager, manage daily logs, punch lists, and closeout processes, and cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and field staff. A four-year degree is preferred, with 5+ years in commercial construction and GC experience;

Qualifications

• Four-year degree preferred; in lieu, related experience acceptable (construction/engineering/business).
• 5+ years in commercial construction, including general contractor experience.
• Tenant renovations, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced projects are a plus.
• Mastery of building processes and best practices.
• Ability to organize resources (people, tools, time) to meet tight deadlines and deliver results.
• Project lead experience preferred; superintendent or project lead background preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong written and verbal communication; professional interactions with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand and administer the HITT safety program for all subcontractors and assist in safety inspections.
• Maintain HITT quality standards across all aspects of the project.
• Lead on-site safety and manage a safe jobsite for all involved.
• Maintain daily activity logs and site conditions; manage punch list and closeout with owner/architect.
• Coordinate with project manager to formulate schedule, ensure installation sequencing, and uphold quality standards.
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and ensure fair treatment across the team.
• Ensure accurate daily documentation of work orders and subcontractor scope; identify and address issues early.
• Develop and organize the site team, arrange temporary facilities/utilities, and identify long lead items for expediting.

The Superintendent provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members to promote the interest of both the business and clients in all matters, as well as demonstrate the characteristics of a mid-level leader.
