Job summary

Monteith Construction in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field supervision, uphold safety standards, and coordinate LEAN planning and scheduling. You will manage cost and quality control, coordinate trade partners, and foster strong client relationships to ensure project satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supervising commercial construction.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours.
• Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office; Procore experience a plus.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Owner, Architect, Trade Partner & Supplier relationships.
• Ensure that all projects are performed by contract and quality standards.
• Schedule and direct the daily activities of work and take necessary actions to ensure project objectives of cleanliness, safety, price, schedule, quality, and process are met.
• Maintain daily paperwork; timecards, field reports, schedule updates, RFIs, and email correspondence.
• Implement project schedules ensuring upcoming events are on track and being proactively attended to.
• Promote and maintain safety, health, and cleanliness on the job site.
• Conduct and attend pre-construction, progress, and other project and staff meetings.
• Participate in training and other forms of continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do At Monteith

As a Superintendent, you will manage the overall day-to-day supervision of field-related construction activities. This includes maintaining a safe work environment, conducting LEAN planning and construction scheduling, managing cost and quality control, coordinating trade partners, and strengthening relationships by ensuring the highest customer satisfaction.
