Job summary

TGG Accounting in Kansas City invites an experienced Construction Estimator to lead conceptual and detailed estimates for Design-Build and design-assist projects in the KC region.

You will collaborate with preconstruction, BD, PMs, design teams, and owners to develop budgets, schedules, and bid packages, ensuring accurate pricing and successful pursuits. A strong design-build background is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial estimating experience with a GC.
• Proven Design-Build and conceptual estimating experience across commercial projects.
• Ability to independently prepare conceptual and plan/spec estimates from early budgeting through final pricing.
• Strong communication skills for presenting estimates and owner meetings.
• Experience coordinating subcontractor bidding, bid leveling, VE, and preconstruction activities.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, OST, Procore, and Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
• Experience healthcare or medical construction is a plus.
• Candidates from residential-only or subcontractor-only backgrounds will not be considered.
• Desire to grow into a long-term leadership opportunity toward a Preconstruction Manager role.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary budgets, preconstruction schedules, and value engineering recommendations to support project planning.
• Participate in Design-Build pursuit interviews, owner presentations, and preconstruction meetings.
• Collaborate with preconstruction leadership, business development, PMs, design teams, subs, and owners.
• Solicit, prequalify, and evaluate subcontractor bids; develop bid packages and level proposals.
• Coordinate turnover meetings with PMs and superintendents for transitions to operations.
• Prepare pricing for change orders and support estimating for active construction.
• Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and cost codings.
• Assist with self-perform estimating and internal trade team collaboration.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes in a collaborative environment.

AbouttheRole

Prepare conceptual, square foot, and detailed estimates from early design through Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for a variety of commercial Design-Build and design-assist projects.

Responsibilities
