Commercial Construction Assistant Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Work with the project manager to formulate the project schedule and ensure proper methods and installation sequences are followed, following through on schedule commitments.
• Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project.
• Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors and develop community relationships that enhance business opportunities while treating subcontractors fairly.
• Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets, understand subcontractor scope to avoid change orders, identify problems early and provide solutions.
• Develop and organize the site team, arrange temporary facilities and utilities, and identify long‑lead items that need expedited action.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four‑year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred.
• 2–5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a general contractor, tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast‑paced projects.
• Project lead experience a plus.
• Ability to master sector‑specific software such as Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and a preference for OSHA30 certification.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs.
• Strong communication, positive attitude, and ability to gather, interpret, and convey information clearly and concisely.
