Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Commercial Banking Specialist or equivalent position preferred.
• Banking compliance or risk management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains electronic records and prepares transactions in CRM software.
• Thoroughly collects customer and prospect financials to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Monitors reports to identify maturing and delinquent accounts, initiates renewals and assists with collections.
• Obtains documentation in compliance with internal controls and risk policies.
• Drafts letters and agreements.
• Facilitates loan approval processes and prepares documents for Loan Committee.
• Provides prompt, professional customer service to customers and prospects.
• Researches and answers customer inquiries and fulfills service requests.
• Works to understand root causes of issues and implements resolutions.
• Provides assistance and training to team members.

Education

Job Summary

The Commercial Banking Specialist is responsible for performing administrative functions to support commercial banking activities. The position facilitates efficient operations, optimizes relationship management and portfolio growth, executes compliance and collections procedures, and serves as a client contact. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains electronic records and prepares transactions in Customer Relationship Management software.

• Thoroughly collects customer and prospect financials to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies and resolve issues.

• Monitors reports to identify maturing and delinquent accounts, initiates renewal processes, and assists with collections.

• Obtains documentation in compliance with internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.

• Drafts letters and agreements.

• Facilitates loan approval processes and prepares documents for the Officer Loan Committee.

• Provides prompt, professional customer service to customers and prospective customers utilizing proper etiquette in all communications.

• Research and answers customer inquiries and fulfills service requests.

• Works to understand the root causes of complex customer service issues and identifies and implements resolutions.

• Provides assistance and training to team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Thorough knowledge of banking policies, procedures, products and services.

• Ability to effectively and persuasively express self, using language and grammar in a professional manner.

• Ability to plan, schedule, and organize professional schedule to achieve goals within or ahead of established time frames.

• Ability to provide a high level of interactive service to others, building relationships, and addressing identified needs.

• Demonstrates commitment to meet or exceed service goals.

• Ability to research, analyze, identify viable options, draw sound conclusions, present findings, and make thoughtful recommendations considering overall risk and short-term and long-term impact.

Industry and Work Experience

• 3 or more years of experience as a Commercial Banking Specialist or equivalent position strongly preferred.

• Banking compliance or risk management experience preferred.

Academic

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and related training or experience required.
