Job summary

Millennium Bank is seeking a Commercial Banking Assistant in Calhoun, GA to provide administrative, operational, and customer service support to our Commercial Lending team. You will work closely with lenders throughout the loan process, from origination and documentation to closing and post-closing activities, while helping maintain strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of banking experience preferred, especially in commercial lending or loan processing.
• Experience supporting commercial lenders and processing loan docs preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist commercial lenders throughout the loan origination process, including gathering financial information, preparing loan files, coordinating closings, and completing post-closing requirements.
• Conduct searches to verify collateral and business information, including UCC, VIN, and corporate records.
• Review credit reports, title reports, flood determinations, appraisals, environmental reports, and other loan documentation.
• Coordinate with lenders, attorneys, title agencies, customers, and other parties to facilitate accurate and timely loan closings.

About the Position

We are seeking a Commercial Banking Assistant to provide administrative, operational, and customer service support to our Commercial Lending team. This position works closely with designated lenders throughout the loan process, from origination and documentation to closing and post-closing activities, while helping maintain strong customer relationships.

The Commercial Banking Assistant plays an important role in ensuring loan transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, customer-focused environment.

Commercial Loan Processing & Documentation

• Assist commercial lenders throughout the loan origination process, including gathering financial information, preparing loan files, coordinating closings, and completing post-closing requirements.
• Conduct UCC, VIN, corporate, and other required searches to verify collateral and business information.
• Obtain and review credit reports, title reports, flood determinations, appraisals, environmental reports, and other required loan documentation.
• Coordinate with lenders, attorneys, title agencies, customers, and other parties to facilitate accurate and timely loan closings.
• Assist with loan closings, ensuring required documents are properly prepared, executed, and submitted for processing.
• Ensure liens and other security interests are properly documented, filed, and recorded.
• Assist lenders with annual loan reviews, renewals, and ongoing portfolio management activities.
• Monitor tickler reports, obtain updated financial information, and follow up on outstanding documentation.
• Prepare payoff letters, loan correspondence, and reports for credit meetings.
• Review loan documentation and operational reports to identify and resolve outstanding items or exceptions.
• Maintain accurate and organized loan files, including uploading documents into the Bank's imaging system and coordinating with Loan Operations.
• Customer Service & Relationship Support
• Provide professional, courteous, and responsive service to commercial customers and business partners.
• Respond to customer inquiries, research account-related issues, and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Assist commercial customers with deposit accounts, cash management services, and other banking needs.
• Support lenders in maintaining positive customer relationships and identifying opportunities to recommend appropriate Bank products and services.
• Communicate effectively with customers, lenders, and third parties to provide updates and ensure a positive customer experience.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of banking experience preferred, particularly in commercial lending, loan processing, loan operations, or a related position.
• Previous experience supporting commercial lenders and processing commercial, consumer, or mortgage loans preferred.Experience with loan documentation, collateral requirements, and loan closing procedures preferred.
